In the United States we see 3 distinctions of women’s rights issues, all of which are concentric but are distinct:
1) Economic and personal security for vulnerable women – poor immigrants, low wage working women. The poverty rate for adult women is substantially higher for women than men and the gap is increasing. Women face violence at home, on the street and in the workplace.
2) Glass ceilings for professional women
3) Reproductive rights for all women

Globally:
A paramount moral challenge in this century is the brutality against women and girls — the brutality of physical abuse and of economic and political oppression.
